What happened
“Planet of the Bass” takes Eurodance’s recognizable ingredients—hard synths, enormous sincerity, a vaguely continental accent, and lyrics that almost sound meaningful—and turns every dial too far. The joke was precise enough that people recognized a song they had never heard as something they somehow remembered.
Where it came from
Comedian Kyle Gordon posted a short 2023 parody called “Every European Dance Song in the 1990s,” performing as DJ Crazy Times alongside Audrey Trullinger’s fictional vocalist, Ms. Biljana Electronica. The fake song’s hooks and earnestly bizarre lyrics spread so fast that Gordon made the requested full official video.

Planet of the Bass is a clean little internet-comedy miracle: a format parody so affectionate and accurate that the web wanted to promote it from a 30-second joke into a genuine summer earworm.
How it spread
The original social clip traveled through TikTok, reposts, reaction videos, and music jokes, while audiences began demanding a full track. Gordon and Trullinger answered with a creator-made official video that let the parody become the exact fake hit its comments section had already invented.
