What happened
The line “my money don’t jiggle jiggle, it folds” became a dance sound, a duet prompt, and an unusually wholesome excuse for a documentarian to become a pop guest star.
Where it came from
Theroux first performed the verse in a 2000 Weird Weekends episode, then repeated it on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date in 2022. Manchester duo Duke & Jones turned that performance into the beat-driven remix that took off on TikTok.
Why it mattered
Jiggle Jiggle is a perfect long-tail internet story: a twenty-two-year-old joke, a creator’s willing participation, and a remix that gave it a completely new audience rather than simply reposting the past.
How it spread
Duke & Jones’s remix circulated through TikTok before Theroux joined them for an official release and lyric video. The participation format crossed music, comedy, and celebrity accounts without losing the absurdity of its source.
