Big Shaq delivers drill-video intensity while refusing to remove his coat, explaining simple arithmetic with “two plus two is four, minus one that’s three, quick maths,” and turning every ad-lib into a tiny cartoon sound effect. The performance never winks at its own seriousness, which is why it gets funnier every time it escalates.
Where it came from
Comedian Michael Dapaah introduced Roadman Shaq’s dead-serious drill parody during a 2017 BBC Radio 1Xtra session. The repeated claim that “the girl told me, ‘Take off your jacket’ / I said, ‘Babes, man’s not hot’” landed so cleanly that Dapaah turned the character into Big Shaq and released an official video.
