Where it came from
Mike Chapman and Craig Zobel created The Homestar Runner Enters the Strongest Man in the World Contest as a parody picture book. The Brothers Chaps’ official archive dates its first cover to July 1996.
Why it mattered
It preserves the joke before the format that made it famous: a strange children’s-book parody that already had the characters and anti-polish of a durable internet comedy world.

The original book became the connective tissue for fans tracing Homestar Runner back from its Flash-era site to its handmade, pre-video beginning.
