Kelsey and Matt’s friends turn their vow-renewal speeches into increasingly revealing musical numbers. The bridesmaids reprise the off-key, highly committed wedding-song format; Domingo arrives; and the sketch keeps escalating by revealing that his brothers and the couple’s relatives have their own connections to the ceremony.
Where it came from
SNL50: The Anniversary Special aired on February 16, 2025. Saturday Night Live’s official upload, “Domingo: Vow Renewal – SNL50,” brought Marcello Hernández’s Domingo back after the 2024 “Bridesmaid Speech” and expanded the sketch with Sabrina Carpenter, Pedro Pascal, Bad Bunny, and returning SNL alumni.
Why it mattered
This was more than a sequel sketch: it showed that “Domingo” had become a reliable shared comic language. The joke survives beyond one parody because the format is instantly legible—an earnest group performance, a disastrous revelation, and a character name that functions as its own punchline.
How it spread
The official SNL clip made the already recognizable Domingo premise portable again: viewers shared the returning name, the deliberately overperformed musical structure, and the surprise guest appearances across social video, quote posts, and recaps.
