A low-poly dog flies to a cloud, receives extremely dog-specific wisdom, and a knock-knock joke swerves into the Greatest American Hero theme.
Where it came from
Animator Joe Gran, then known as Unklejoe, uploaded Dog of Wisdom in July 2015 after it appeared in episode seven of Great: The Show.
Why it mattered
It shows creator-led animation turning a deliberately rough one-minute joke into a durable shared language without losing its author.
How it spread
The creator upload moved through Reddit, Facebook, fan art, parody clips, and remixes; The Living Tombstone later released a remix featuring Gran.
