What happened
Chad took calls from an Emperor who mostly wanted to complain, navigated the politics of Empire Market, and tried to command respect from coworkers who had seen him stock cereal. The joke stayed funny by treating the tiny workplace stakes as galaxy-shaking.
Where it came from
Madison creators Aaron Yonda and Matt Sloan made Chad Vader for Blame Society Films in 2006. The premise moved a familiar sci-fi silhouette out of space opera and into employee schedules, break rooms, and supermarket grudges.
Why it mattered
Chad Vader captured a vital early-web move: taking a huge shared pop-culture icon, making something specific and homemade with it, and building a continuing world instead of chasing one disposable punchline.
How it spread
Episodes circulated as early YouTube comedy and became a favorite of the emerging web-series audience. The production grew from a local creator project into a multi-season character world with a devoted quote-and-catch-up audience.
